The filling and degassing of the expansion tank is mainly to fill the cooling system and discharge the residual air in the system in time during the filling process and maintain the pumping capacity of the water pump to maintain sufficient coolant flow in the system. After the volvo excavator is equipped with an engine, its heat generation increases, and the gas generated during the cooling system needs to be discharged in time through an external expansion tank to prevent damage to the cooling system. It is currently hoped to improve the connection between the radiator and the volvo excavator expansion tank to ensure that the cooling system has sufficient pressure to prevent the cooling liquid from boiling and the water pump from cavitation under extreme operating conditions.


However, the existing technology has some shortcomings. For excavator products, the space requirements are too high. When the upper hood is not significantly increased, the gap between the volvo excavator expansion tank and the radiator is limited, and a large pressure difference cannot be formed. When the water addition rate exceeds 6L/s, the gas inside the volvo excavator expansion tank is difficult to discharge immediately, and the production line needs to be filled repeatedly to fill up the coolant.

After the initial filling, as the cooling system is degassed, the coolant level in the volvo excavator expansion tank will drop, because the air remaining in the engine, radiator and gearbox cooler circuit will be discharged from the deaeration pipe to the volvo excavator expansion in the tank. The air remaining in the system after the initial filling will determine the degree of drop in the liquid level in the volvo excavator expansion tank. After the engine is running, the bubbles will gather to the top of the radiator along with the circulation system. Our goal is to get the radiator as soon as possible. The gas at the top is discharged into the volvo excavator expansion tank, but the existing design is difficult to achieve this through a single radiator degassing pipe.

The new volvo excavator expansion tank provides a radiator with an expansion tank for excavators, which improves the primary filling rate and degassing performance of the cooling system.
